The 72nd Indian Senior National Basketball Championship was held at Udaipur, Rajasthan from 27 Nov to 3 Dec, 2022. Punjab (men) and Indian Railways (women) emerged as champions after defeating Tamil Nadu and Kerala respectively.

Tamil Nadu employed ruthless pressure on both ends and tried to run their opponents out of the stadium. I tried to capture this to show how they tried to run their competition into the ground. Congratulations to the Indian Railways Women's team, Head Coach Mr Nayak and the coaching staff on winning the gold at the 72nd National Basketball Championship.Poonam Chaturvedi of Indian Railways utilizing her wingspan to grab a rebound and throw an outlet pass.@nima_doma__ is blazing a trail for women in basketball in North East India. I want them to not be afraid to dream big."- Nima.Player of the tournament @gurbaz_sandhu99 had 31 points for Punjab in the finals with clutch shots as he broke the traps of stifling defense of Tamil Nadu.
"We fought hard to win. We had some very tough games at the nationals this time. We had lost a chance to three-peat as champions when we lost to Tamil Nadu. This time, we were not going to let the game get away."
